Programme Overview

Our program, Master of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, enhances the technical knowledge of the students related to electrical and electronics and thus prepares the students for engineering profession. We offer a subject based specific curriculum that comprises theoretical concepts as well as practical aspects related to the program. Our academic staff also helps the students to acquire skills required for scientific work or scientific activities related to this field of study.
Students may wish to pursue Ph.D program or may opt for a professional career in this relevant field after achieving a Master’s degree.

For successful completion of Masters degree in LUC, each candidate should publish minimum of Two research articles in scopus indexed journals, with Lincoln affiliation.

Entry Requirements :

  1. Bachelor of Engineering with minimum CGPA 2:50; or
  2. Other qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government, and
  3. Test score of Bahasa Inggeris as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 500, lnternational Bahasa Inggeris Language Test System (IELTS) 5.0 or other equivalent qualifications for international students. If students do not meet these criteria, the providers must offer the English skills to ensure students’ proficiency adequate to meet the needs of the program.

Students can work as electrical or electronic engineers in a diverse range of sectors such as communications as well as control and instrumentation as far as the process industries is concerned. Students may also choose to work in other fields such as information technologies, multimedia data processing and space applications as well as technologies.

We aim to provide the students with an understanding of the programme knowledge as well as the aspects related to the application of it. We also emphasize on the acquiring of skills by the students related to the application of the knowledge of science, mathematics and engineering as it would help them to resolve technical problems in their professional sphere of work.

International Student Entry

I am an International student, what are the entry requirements?

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent. Those with a CGPA below 2.50 may be accepted with at least 5 years of relevant work experience. International students require TOEFL 500 or IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

Local Student Entry

I am a Local student, what are the entry requirements?

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent. Those with a CGPA below 2.50 may be accepted with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.

English Proficiency

Do I need English Proficiency like IELTS or TOEFL for this program?

Yes, you need IELTS 5.0 or TOEFL 500. Linguaskill 154 is also accepted. Lincoln University’sEnglish Center offers an intensive course for those needing to meet these requirements.

Simultaneous Study

Can I do English Proficiency and major in my course at the same time?

No, English proficiency is an entry requirement, but the university ensures a 99% on-time graduation rate.

Minimum Percentage

What is the minimum percentage required to join the engineering program?

The minimum percentage required is 75%.

Bachelor’s to Master’s Transition

Can I transition from any recognized Bachelor’s degree in Engineering to a Master’s program?

Yes, you can transition from any recognized Bachelor’s degree in Engineering to a Master’s program provided you meet the prerequisite subjects required for the specific program.

Yes, if you don’t meet the required CGPA of 2.50, there will be an internal assessment like an interview or aptitude test.

Are there alternative pathways if I don’t meet the standard entry qualifications?

Yes, you can pursue a master’s through the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) if you meet the age (35 years) and relevant work experience requirements.

Age Limit

Is there an age limit for applying to engineering programs?

There is no age limit as long as you meet the entry requirements. If applying through APEL, the minimum age is 30 years old for a Master’s degree.

Duration at LUC

What is the program duration at Lincoln University College (LUC)?

At LUC, the Master’s by coursework lasts 18 months, and the Master’s by research lasts 2 years.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 40 credit hours to graduate.

Classes typically have around 20 students, ensuring an interactive learning environment. A lecturer-to-student ratio of 1:25 is maintained for quality education.
