The Programme is providing professionally qualified graduates capable to apply their knowledge and skills with the current trends in the field of Physiotherapy. The programme takes interdisciplinary advances and encourages students to display the ethical, professional and social responsibility. The development of scientific methods and problem solving skills will be promoted and imparted in practical sessions and independent learning through the following professional modules like Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Electrotherapy Modalities, Exercise Therapy, Women Health, Paediatrics, General Surgery, First Aid and Emergency Procedures, Application of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Physiotherapy in Musculoskeletal conditions, Physiotherapy in cardio respiratory conditions, Physiotherapy in neurological conditions and clinical placements.

Entry Requirements :

  1. Candidates must pass in Malaysian Certificate of Education (SPM) or equivalent examination with credits in 5 subjects:
    • Bahasa Malaysia
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • 1 Science subjects (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Sciences / Applied Sciences) and
    • Any Other One Subject Or
  2. GCE O Level or equivalent with 5 Grade C in the following subjects:
    • English
    • Mathematics
    • 1 Science subjects (Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Sciences / Applied Sciences) and
    • Any Other 2 Subjects Or
  3. Certificate (Level 3 MQF) related to Health Sciences with minimum CGPA 2.75

English Requirements :
International students must have proof of good proficiency in verbal and written English. For example, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 4.0 or its equivalent. If a student does not meet this requirement, HEPs must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the programme.

The diploma graduate students will fill the manpower needs in clinical setups like government hospitals, private hospitals, private clinics, rehabilitation centers, home care, fitness centre, spastic centers, nursing home, geriatric and community health care centers. Even they can take a venture to open Physiotherapy or Fitness centre as well. The graduates even pursue higher education with Bachelor of Physiotherapy.

The program of Diploma in Physiotherapy will produce students with the knowledge and clinical skills able to manage patients competently with latest issues and current trends in the health care industry:

The Diploma in Physiotherapy is a coursework-based programme. Graduation is awarded upon successful completion of all taught courses, prescribed assessments and Clinical postings component within the approved study duration.

Academic Standing

Students must successfully complete all coursework modules with no outstanding assessments, incomplete grades, or failed courses in their academic record at the time of graduation approval.

Endorsement by the School, Academic Committees, and approval by the Lincoln University College Senate

Graduation is awarded only upon successful completion of all prescribed formative and summative assessment components. Students must demonstrate satisfactory attainment of the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) in accordance with the approved assessment structure of the Diploma in Physiotherapy programme.

Program Overview

This program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become qualified physiotherapy practitioners. The program focuses on the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with movement disorders or injuries. Students will learn about various physiotherapy techniques, including manual therapy, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and hydrotherapy. They will also gain practical experience through clinical placements in hospitals, clinics, and community settings, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios. Upon completion of the program, graduates will be prepared to work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and private practices.

The main campus, Wisma Lincoln, is located at Kelana Jaya SS 6/12.

As a physiotherapy assistant, you will gain skills in assessing and assisting in treating physical ailments, rehabilitation, exercise therapy, patient management, and working with other healthcare professionals.

Yes, the program includes clinical postings, where students get hands-on experience in various areas, such as musculoskeletal, neurology, cardiorespiratory, Geriatric, paediatric, and Women’s health.

Clinical postings are spread throughout the program, with increasing responsibility as you progress. For example, Clinical Posting 1 to 4 are included in different semesters.

The program involves a mix of lectures, tutorials, practical labs, clinical postings, and interactive learning experiences with healthcare professionals.
