Micro-Credential in Electrical Power Transmission System
Programme Overview
The structure of the electric power system is very large and complex. Nevertheless, its main components (or subsystems) can be identified as the generation system, transmission system, and distribution system. These three systems are the basis of the electric power industry.
Electrical engineers are concerned with every step in the process of generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy will encounter challenging problems in designing future power systems to deliver increasing amounts of electrical energy in a safe, clean, and economical manner.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course participants should be able to:
• Describe the structure of the complex power transmission system, their relevant subsystem and the role of AC and DC transmission systems.
• Develop and derive the mathematical representation of various types of complex transmission system overhead, underground transmission system, DC and AC transformers.
• Identify the fault of the transmission lines and analyse the right protection scheme for the power transmission system.
• Assess the importance of reliability in power transmission system.
• Prepare an assignment on the topics related to electrical power transmission system using valid online resources.
• Present a topic based on electrical power transmission system.
