Micro-Credential in Cell Biology
Programme Overview
The course offers an advanced understanding of the structure of various organelles and their specific metabolic function of eukaryotes cells. The students also enable to acquire broad understanding on how the dis-regulation of internal organization of cells may lead to various human diseases. This course also covers the importance of cellular processes such as cell cycle regulation at genes level & the signal transduction mechanism which may help to enhance the students’ knowledge in the subsequence related course (e.g: Genetics and Molecular Biology). The course will focus on such subjects as the general structure of cells, the structural and functional organizations of cell membrane, cytoskeleton and cell motility.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course participants should be able to:
- Describe in-depth the cells’ structure, composition and function of the organelles and the cellular growth control and regulation.
- Demonstrate the ability to carry out experiments in Cell Biology.
- Present professionally on Cell Biology.
- Prepare assignment using a variety of resource materials.
Course Progression
Credits from this Micro-Credential Programme are transferable to the following full academic programme:
- Master of Biotechnology
Assessments
- Coursework 60%
- Final Examination 40%
