Programme Overview

The Master of Business Information Systems (MBIS) course offered by Lincoln University College (LUC) focuses on the development of the self-reflective mindset, the analytic mindset, the collaborative mindset, the worldly mindset, and the action mindset. The MBIS course is designed for professionals, whose careers responsibilities transcend a single functional specialty and require a broad array of specialized knowledge and skills. The emphasis of this interdisciplinary, integrated, and applied program is on the significant organizational as well as business information processes of the public or private institutions doing business on a global scale.

For successful completion of Master’s degree each candidate should publish minimum of two research articles in Scopus indexed journals with Lincoln University College affiliation.

Entry Requirements :

i. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate, OR

ii. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment, OR

iii. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate and with relevant working experience, subject to a rigorous internal assessment, OR

iv. A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the Lincoln University College Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses, OR

v. Other equivalent related qualifications to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) recognized by the Malaysian Government, AND

vi. Achieve a minimum Band 4 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR equivalent to Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) (Mid 82).

Applicants must have:
1. Passed the Malaysian High School Certificate (STPM) with 2 full passes or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 and credit in Mathematics at the Certificate of Education (SPM) level; or testing.lincoln.edu.my
2. Passed the Matriculation program or a recognized Foundation with CGPA 2.0 and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; ortesting.lincoln.edu.my
3. Graduated Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (candidates with a CGPA below 2.5 but above 2.0 may be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment); ortesting.lincoln.edu.my
4. Practice Diploma with a minimum CGPA 2.5 and credit in Mathematics at SPM level; ortesting.lincoln.edu.my
5. Graduated South Australian Matriculation (SAM) / Tertiary Entrance Exam (TEE) / Any other Australian Matriculation with minimum 50% or TER; ortesting.lincoln.edu.my

The program includes core subjects in network operating systems, network management, network implementation, Cisco Routing & Switching Techniques, security appliances, ethical hacking techniques, vulnerability analysis, penetration testing, and data encryption technology. In the final year, students have options including areas such as Server Windows 2008, Exchange, Administration, and a varied catalog of Linux Administration/Unix Shell Scripting, Emerging Web Technologies and Cloud Computing, and SAP Administration.

• International students must have proof of good proficiency in verbal and written English. For example, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.5 or its equivalent.
• If a student does not meet this requirement, HEPs must offer English proficiency courses to ensure that the student’s proficiency is sufficient to meet the needs of the program.

Yes, the Intensive English Program is available for students who don’t meet the requirement. Successful completion allows for admission to degrees.
