Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering Technology with Honours programme is ETAC accredited and registered at MQA. The duration of full-time study generally takes 4 years to complete. Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements :
- Passed Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia or equivalent with a minimum of a full pass or grade C (CGPA 2.0) in Mathematics and one (1) Science-related subjects and pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or equivalent with at least a pass in English; or
- Passed Diploma in Engineering / Engineering Technology (Level 4, Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in relevant areas of the LUC that are recognized by the government of Malaysia or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.0.
For international students, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 or an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or equivalent is required. If the student does not meet this requirement, LUC offers proficiency courses in English to ensure student mastery is sufficient to meet the program requirements. This is done through the evaluation process.

Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialisation to defined and applied engineering procedures, processes, systems or methodologies in the field of Mechatronics engineering technology.
Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, research literature and analyse broadly-defined engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to Mechatronics engineering technology.
Design/ development of solutions: Design solutions for broadly-defined mechatronics engineering technology problems and contribute to the design of systems, components or processes to meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
Investigation: Conduct investigations of broadly-defined mechatronics engineering technology problems; locate, search and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature, design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions.
Modern Tool Usage: Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to broadly-defined engineering problems, with an understanding of the limitations.

No, English proficiency is an entry requirement. You must achieve the required score before joining the main course.

What is the maximum credit transfer I can get from diploma to degree?
A maximum of 30% of the total credits can be transferred if the diploma is in the same field, provided that 80% of the syllabus and subject mapping matches, with a minimum grade of C.
Subject Requirements
What is the minimum percentage required in Maths and Science subjects to join the engineering program?
The minimum percentage required is 50%.
Any specific subjects I should have good grades in to join the Engineering Degree?
Yes, you must have a grade of C (2.0/4.0) in Math and one science subject such as Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
Alternative Pathways
I am not from a science background. Can I join the Engineering degree program?
A science background is compulsory. However, you may join our Foundation in Science program to bridge over to the Bachelor’s program.
