Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Finance degree is a specialised undergraduate degree that gives students a solid foundation in financial principles, investment techniques, and risk management. This degree is awarded to students who have completed this degree. Financial accounting, corporate finance, investment analysis, banking, and financial markets are some of the fundamental topics that are covered in the program, which normally lasts between three and four years and extends over several years. Through the application of quantitative and qualitative methods, students acquire the skills necessary to evaluate financial accounts, manage portfolios, and evaluate market trends.

  1. Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) (or any equivalent qualification) with a minimum [(Grade Point (GP) 2.33)] in any two subjects; and pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English; or
  2. Pass Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid; and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English; or
  3. Matriculation/Foundation qualification (or any equivalent qualification) with a minimum Curriculum Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 out of 4.00, and pass SPM (or any equivalent qualification) with credit in Mathematics and pass in English; or
  4. Any qualification equivalent to Diploma in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field [(Level 4, Malaysian Qualifications Framework (MQF)] with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00.

 

Note: The credit requirement for Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level for candidate in category (i), (ii) and (iii) can be waived should the qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.

International students are required to achieve a minimum score of 6.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR its equivalent.

• Industrial training report and presentation
• Employer and academic supervisor evaluation

Academic Standing

Students must successfully complete all coursework modules and the capstone project, with no outstanding assessments, incomplete grades, or failed courses in their academic record at the time of graduation approval.

Final Approval

Endorsement by the School, Academic Committees, and approval by the Lincoln University College Senate

Graduation is awarded only upon successful completion of all prescribed formative and summative assessment components. Students must demonstrate satisfactory attainment of the Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and Programme Learning Outcomes (PLOs) in accordance with the approved assessment structure of the Bachelor of Finance programme.
