Programme Overview

The Faculty, aims to provide a conducive environment for learning and research, for the students of this program, with due regard to the changing needs of the modern day.

Distinguished professors and research workers (local and/or International) of this relevant field are consulted to achieve high standards as well as to improve the quality of research time to time.

For successful completion of PhD degree in LUC, each candidate should publish minimum of Two research articles in scopus indexed journals and Two Other International journals, with Lincoln affiliation.

Entry Requirements :

  • Master’s Degree in Health Sciences or another related field (Level 7, MOH); or
  • Other qualifications recognized as equivalent to a master’s (Level 7, MOH) accepted by the Senate.

English language requirements for international students:

  • A minimum score of 500 in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language); or
  • A minimum score of 5.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System).

The aims and objectives of the University College were formulated after a complete review process.

The Senate and the Student council are consulted together along with the management and changes are suggested to achieve the desired goal. After a review of the suggestions, the final draft is presented to the Board of Director of the University College for approval.

Admission

The Entry Requirements and the minimum academic qualifications required for admission into the PhD in Health Sciences program are:

  • Master’s Degree in Health Sciences or another related field (Level 7, MOH); or
  • Other qualifications recognized as equivalent to a master’s (Level 7, MOH) accepted by the Senate.

Research experience is often more important than professional work experience.

5 years of work experience is not always required, but it can be advantageous, especially for candidates who are interested in a similar specialization but different from his/her BSc and MSc qualifications.

For a PhD in Health Sciences application, the documents required for the application process are as follows:

  1. Academic Transcripts and Certificates

    Official transcripts and certificates from all post-secondary institutions attended (Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc.).

Certified translations are required if the transcripts and certificates are not in English.

  1. Proof of English Language Proficiency. If your previous education was not in English:

        TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent scores are required.

Research Publication Requirements

Research candidates must adhere to the following publication requirements before submitting their draft thesis. Candidates must fulfill one of the following options:

Option 1:

  1. Scopus-Indexed Q1 Publication: Publish at least one (1) article in a Scopus-indexed journal with a minimum Q1 quartile ranking. The journal must remain indexed in Scopus at the time of thesis submission.
  2. Conference or Book Chapter: Present at least one (1) paper at an international conference or publish one (1) book chapter related to the research work.

Option 2:

  1. Scopus and Non-Scopus Publications: Publish at least two (2) articles in Scopus-indexed journals (minimum Q2 or Q3 quartile) and two (2) articles in non-Scopus journals.
  2. Conference Presentations: Present at least two (2) papers at international conferences related to the candidate’s research work.
