Entry Requirements :

  1. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade C (GPA 2.00) in any two; (2) subjects OR
  2. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid, OR
  3. A Diploma (Level 4 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, OR
  4. Matriculation/Foundation or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00.

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Education (Honours) program is intended to train students to become proficient and successful English language teachers of non-native speakers. The program’s goal is to provide aspiring educators with the knowledge, skills, and pedagogical resources they need to teach English in a variety of local and international educational settings.

The Bachelor of Education (Honours) program duration is 36 months for full-time study and 66 months for part-time.

The Bachelor of Education (Honours) program intakes are March, July, and November of every year.

Graduates of Bachelor of Education (Honours) program will be able to teach both at elementary and secondary level of education.

Hands-on experience through student teaching placements.

The duration of the teaching placements for Bachelor of Education (Honours) program is 16 weeks in the final year, though earlier and shorter teaching experiences may also be included throughout the program as part of the student’s assessment.

If you fail the teaching placement for Bachelor of Education (Honours) program at LUC, you will have to retake it in a future semester. The university will provide feedback and remedial support, such as additional mentorship, to help you improve. Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with at least Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in 2 subjects; or
  • Pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) (Jayyid rank).
  • STAM students who do not take or pass the Arabic in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent may be considered for a Bachelor of Arabic degree; or
  • Pass in the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 5 subjects; or
  • Pass in Matriculation/ Foundation/ Foundation from any IPTA/ IPTS/ Institutions allowing foundation programs with a CGPA of 2.00; or
  • Diploma with at least CGPA 2.00; or
  • Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Government of Malaysia.

The English language eligibility requirement for the Bachelor of Education (Honours) program in LUC includes one of the following:

  1. Malaysian Students:

o A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least a Credit in English. OR

o A minimum Band 4 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

  1. International Students:

o A minimum score of 550 in TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). OR

o A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System) OR
