Programme Overview

The Master of Teaching and Learning at Lincoln University College, Malaysia, is a professionally orientated graduate program designed to prepare skilled, reflective, and innovative educators. It blends advanced pedagogical theory with practical classroom experience, emphasizing learner-centred approaches, inclusive education, and evidence-based practices. Candidates develop expertise in curriculum design, assessment, educational leadership, and effective instructional strategies for diverse learning environments. Through supervised teaching placements and research-informed coursework, the programme strengthens critical thinking, professional ethics, and adaptive problem-solving. Graduates are equipped to create meaningful learning experiences, support student development, and contribute to the improvement of educational practice within schools and wider communities.

i. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education field (Level 6 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent as accepted by the HEP Senate; OR

ii. A Bachelor’s Degree in Education field with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; OR

iii. A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 must undergo *prerequisite courses. OR

iv. A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.00, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment AND must undergo *prerequisite courses. OR

v. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognized by Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.
Note:
*Pre-requisite courses: Common Core Education foundation.

ENGLISH COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT (INTERNATIONAL STUDENT)
Achieve Malaysian University English Test (MUET) B3.0 (Minimum) or any English competency test equivalent to a Low B1 Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).
Refer to Surat JPT/GS 1000/630 Jld. 3 (12), 06 Mac 2023 – Syarat Kompetensi Bahasa Inggeris Kepada Pelajar Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Swasta (IPTS) for equivalent English language assessments and score.

Graduates of the Master of Teaching and Learning can pursue careers as qualified teachers, curriculum specialists, or educational leaders across school and community settings. They may also advance into roles in educational support services, training, and instructional design. Key roles include:

  • Capable of adopting practical solutions with teaching practices through effective communication and collaboration with team members to achieve highest standard performance and bridge the gap between industrial needs and academia.
  • Develops students’ personal, digital skills and numerical skills which integrates with 21st-century teaching and learning framework.
  • Competent in applying values, ethics, and morality combined with effective with effective leadership skills, within teaching institutions and professional development settings.
