Program Aim
The Engineering Department of Electrical and Electronics Technology offers a 30-month Diploma programme in Electrical and Electronics Technology to help the students to acquire technical aptitude and skills required for the fields of electrical & electronics. The programme provides well-balanced courses in electrical, electronics and computer hardware technology and provides expert training in electrical installation.

I am an International student, what is the entry requirement?
To qualify, candidates must meet one of the following: Secondary School UEC or O-Level with credits in three subjects (including Mathematics and one Science/Technical subject), a Vocational/Technical Certificate, or Engineering Certificate with a CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent qualifications. I am a Local student, what are the entry requirements for a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering?
You must meet one of the following: SPM, UEC, or O-Level with credits in three subjects (including Mathematics and one Science/Technical subject), a Vocational/Technical Certificate, or Engineering Certificate with a CGPA of 2.00 or equivalent qualifications. If you don’t meet these requirements, we offer a bridge program at our Foundation Center to help you meet the minimum requirements.

Do I need any English Proficiency like IELTS or TOEFL for the Engineering Degree Programme?
Yes, you need English Proficiency like IELTS 5.0, TOEFL 500, or Linguaskill 154. Lincoln University’s English Center offers an intensive course to help you build the skills needed to pass English proficiency requirements.
Can I do English Proficiency and major in my course at the same time?
No, unfortunately English is an entry requirement. However, our academic department ensures you graduate on time—Lincoln has a 99% on-time graduation rate!
Minimum Requirements
What is the minimum percentage required to join the engineering program?
The minimum percentage required to join the engineering program is 50%. For more details, please refer to our entry requirements.
Subject-Specific Requirements
Any specific subject I should have good grades in my A-level to join the Engineering Degree?
Yes, for the Engineering degree, you must have grades C (2.0 out of 4.0) in Math and one science subject like Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
Science Background
I am not from a science background, can I join the Engineering degree programme?
A science background is compulsory for eligibility in the engineering degree program. However, you may join our Foundation in Science programme to bridge over to the bachelor programme.
Work Experience
Is work experience required for entry into an undergraduate engineering programme?
No, work experience is not required if you pass A-level or Higher Secondary School or Foundation in Science with minimum grades of C in Math and any science subject.
Alternative Pathways
Are there alternative pathways if I don’t meet the standard entry qualifications?

Age Limit
Is there an age limit for applying to engineering programmes?
There is no age limit to study in any engineering program as long as you meet the entry requirements. However, if you apply through APEL, there are specific age requirements: Diploma – 20 years old and above.

What documents do I need to submit with my application for eligibility?
Original scan copy and certified true copy of your academic transcripts and certificates along with an English translation if it is in another language.
Background in Math & Science
Can I apply if I don’t have a strong background in science or math?
Yes, you can apply as long as you have passed Mathematics and one science subject. Our academic staff in the Faculty of Engineering offers one-on-one tutoring and support for those with a weaker background in math and science.
Graduate Title
Once I graduate, am I called a Graduate Engineer?
No, since our programmes are Engineering Technology programmes, upon graduation, you will be called an Engineering Technologist.
Industrial Training
Do you provide industrial training assistance?
Yes, we provide assistance to students for their industrial training or on-the-job training.

What is the duration in LUC?
At the Faculty of Engineering, the duration is 2.5 years for a Diploma. Our faculty maintains a 99% graduate-on-time rate, ensuring students complete their studies efficiently.

What is the minimum credit?
Students are required to complete a minimum of 90 credit hours to graduate from the Diploma program.
Class Size
How many students are in a class?
Classes typically have around 20 students, promoting an interactive and engaging learning environment. We maintain a 1:25 lecturer-to-student ratio to ensure quality education and personalized attention.
Timetable
How do I receive the timetable for this course?
The timetable is usually provided four weeks ahead of the start of the semester. Students can view their timetable through the LLS student portal.

Is the program accredited by MQA?
Yes, our Diploma programs are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

How many semesters for this programme?
This programme has four long semesters and two short semesters, totalling 2 years and 5 months
Class Format
How about the classes?
The ODL programme has two sessions: Synchronous (face-to-face) facilitation for about 6 weeks per semester, and Asynchronous, where LMS materials are uploaded and online discussions occur.

What is the teaching material?
The lecturers provide Self Instructional Material (SIM), which is uploaded into the ODL system. All assessments are uploaded into the ODL system.

Examination
How about the examination?
The examination will be conducted online. Students need to follow all the procedures during the examination.
