1) What is the minimum qualification required for admission into Lincoln College?
The minimum qualification accepted is “SPM / O Levels. / High School. or 10 + 2

2) What are the courses of study available at Lincoln College?
a) Diploma in Nursing
b) Diploma in Hotel and Catering.
c) Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Technology
d) Diploma in Computer Science
e) Diploma in Multimedia
f) Diploma in Business Administration
g) Top-Up Study Programme for the BSc in Nursing


3) Is Lincoln College approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and National Accreditation Board?
Yes. The Approval number is: KP (JPS) 5195/ IPTS/ 1222/ jld 11

4) Are the courses approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)?
Yes, all courses are approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

5) Where is Lincoln College situated?
Lincoln College is presently located at Taman Mayang. Our address is at Mayang Plaza, Block A, No.I, Jalan SS 26/2, Taman Mayang Jaya, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor , Malaysia. The campus is about 70 kms away from the airport (28 minutes) and about 15 minutes from the city centre.

6)  Is public transport readily available?
The College is easily accessible by public transport. The Kelana Jaya LRT station is about 10 minutes walking distance from the campus.

7) What are the documents needed to enroll in the college? (Applicable for foreign students only)
A) Photocopy of Passport (From Page 1 to last page) = All pages (including blank pages) 3 sets
B) Colour Photographs (6 copies). Please write your name, passport number and nationality behind the photographs
C) Certified true copy of your educational qualifications and all other supporting documents.
D) If you stop or have gap in your study in a year or more, please specify the reason why. 

8) Do I need to pay any fees before I come to Malaysia?
Yes. You may have to pay an application fee of USD 150 ( RM 800 )

9) How do I pay this amount?
You can pay by bank draft made out to   LINCOLN COLLEGE. Please write down your name, passport number and nationality behind the bank draft. You can also pay by telegraphic transfer as per bank details:

10) Can I submit my application form without application fees?
 You can submit the application but will not be processed without payment.

 11)  To whom do I send these payments?
You can send it directly to the college address or personally make payment to the nearest counseling office of the college.

 12)  How long does it take to get my visa approved?
It takes 4 to 5 weeks, depending on the circumstances.

 13) Do I have to apply for interview at the Malaysian Embassy in my home country?
No, you do not have to go to the Malaysian Embassy for visa interview

 14)  How I am going to get my visa?
Lincoln College will get the visa approval from Malaysia and will send it to you directly or to our counselor's office.

15)  Do I need to get visa stamp from the Malaysian Embassy in my country?
Normally the visa approval document is enough. However, certain countries like China, require visa stamp from the Embassy. Please check with your counselor or the Embassy.

 16) If I get the visa stamp in my country, do I still need to get my student visa stamp in Malaysia?
The visa stamp ( from your country) is an entry visa. Once you are cleared from the Malaysian Immigration at the airport, the college will take your passport and send it to the Immigration Office for student visa stamping.  This process takes at least one to two months.

 1 7) When I arrive in Malaysia who will receive me at the airport?
The college representative will be at the airport to receive and help you get clearance at the Immigration. Without the college representative you will not be allowed to enter Malaysia.

 18) How do I recognize the college representative?
The college representative will be holding a “LINCOLN COLLEGE” poster.

19)  Where will he and or she wait at the airport?
The moment you approach the Immigration counter, the college representative will be there waiting for you ( by the Immigration counter ).          

20) How will the college know when I am coming to Malaysia?
You have to inform the college at least 3 days in advance before your arrival. You can also inform your counselor at least 5 days in advance.

 22) What personal things should I bring with me?
Preferably , two (2) sets of bed sheets, two (2) sets of pillow covers, clothes , towels, personal toiletries, medicine , study materials , folding umbrella  , locker / padlock ( to lock your bag with ) , mobile phone ( if you have ) .  

 23) What kind of accommodation is available at Lincoln College?
There are two types of accommodation
a) Condominium     (b) Apartment  

a) What are the amenities in the condominium?
The condominium has 24 hours security, swimming pool, gymnasium, kitchen, and lift services

  b) What are the the amenities in the apartment?
No security, no swimming pool, and no gymnasium. However, kitchen and lift services are available

  c) What is the distance between the hostel and the college?
It is only 10 to 15 minutes walking distance

  d) Can I cook in the apartment / condominium?
Yes, you can cook but you need to have your own cooking utensils

  e) How much does it cost to cook?
 According to our current students, every month cost them around RM 70 to 100 (lunch and dinner)

  f) How much would it cost me if I want to eat in a restaurant?
Vegetarian meal is around RM 3 to RM 3. 5 and
Non Vegetarian is about  RM 4 to RM 5
  

g)  Are there restaurants open for 24 hours?
Yes, there are a number of restaurants around the college and hostel that are open for 24 hours

   a) When do I have to pay my first year fees?
You pay only when you get your visa approval. But you must pay before your arrival in Malaysia.
Fees shall be paid directly to Lincoln College. No fees shall be made out to or coursed through agents as they are not authorized to either collect or recieve any payments or fees.

  b) Can I pay my first year fees by installment?
No. International students must pay first year fees in full.

  c) Can I pay my second year fees by installment?
 Yes, you can pay fees by semester 

  d) How many semesters are there in a year?
There are three (3) semesters in a year, except in the Diploma in Nursing programme, which has two (2) semesters in a year.

   e) What is the meaning of "semester"?
One semester = 14 weeks lecture, one (1) week examination and two (2) weeks holiday, except in the Diploma in Nursing Programme wherein one (1) semester is equivalent to six (6) months

 25)  What are the schedules of classes ?
Normally, classes are held from Mondays through Fridays, 8. 30 am to 2. 30 pm (except in the Diploma in Nursing classes)

 26) Can I transfer my credits from Lincoln College Malaysia to other countries?
Yes, you can transfer your credits to America, Australia, London / UK, New Zealand, Canada, and other European countries

 27) Will the college help me to transfer my credits?
Yes , the college will process your documents and will help you to transfer your credits

 28) When can I open my bank account in Malaysia?
You can open your bank account after the stamping of visa on your passport.  It will take at least one to two months.

 29) Where can I change money?
There is a money changer near the college where you can change your money.

 30) What banks are within the college area?

32) What is the duration of a Diploma course?
Duration of a Diploma course is 28 months.

33) What is the equivalent of a Diploma?
Equivalent of a Diploma is Year One (1) and Year Two (2) of a Bachelor's Degree

34) After obtaining a Diploma , what can I do ?

Option 1

After obtaining a Diploma , you can work in day time and study in the evening

Option 2
You can continue to study for 18 months for your final year Degree and get a Bachelor's Degree in Malaysia

Option 3
You can transfer your Diploma ( 90 credits ) to another college or university in the USA, UK , Australia or New Zeland for your final year of Bachelor's Degree.

Option 4
You can work for a few years and then study for your final year.

35) Other Information:

  a)  What are the languages spoken in Malaysia?
English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil

   b)  Is it necessary that I should learn the Malay Language?
If you could speak Malay language, you could have an edge for a lot of opportunities. This will enhance your career and chances of finding a job.
