FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1 :  What is the duration of the Diploma in Nursing ?

 The  Diploma in Nursing is  a three-year or 6 semester programme.

Q 2 : How many students are taken at each intake?

Only 30 students are enrolled at each intake.  You would need to pay the registration fees to   reserve your place.

Q3: What are the entry requirements?

The minimum requirements are  3 credits at the SPM level including Mathematics, General Science and English. International students must have at least 12 years of schooling with a science background.

 Q 4: I have   A- levels  qualification.  Can I enrol in the program?

 You should have at least a Pass in 2 subjects at the A-levels.

Q. 5 : How much are the tuition fees?

 TOTAL : RM 47,200

 

The tuition fees are inclusive of the laboratory  fees, examination  fees, etc.. You are required to purchase books and to pay for the photocopying of notes, etc.

Q 6 : How much are the living expenses?

Approximately RM 500 per month .  Students are provided with free  accommodation.   

Q. 7 : Is there any financial assistance?

The College will arrange for the PTPTN loan (subject to approval by PTPTN for Malaysian students only) and you can also apply for a bank loan, terms and  conditions apply.

Q.8  :  Do I have to register with the Nursing Board of Malaysia?

Yes, if you would like to work in Malaysia. In fact, whichever country you would like to work in, you would need  to register with the Nursing Board of that country. The Nursing Board of Malaysia conducts two examinations a year to facilitate the registration process. The Nursing Board of Malaysia issues the “Annual Practical Certificate “ (APC), a very important document which is recognized by the Commonwealth countries before a person is employed as a nurse.

Q 9 : How many weeks are there in a semester?

Q 10 : Is there any age limit for enrollment into the nursing program?

Your minimum age should be at least 18 years and you should have obtained either the SPM or High School Certificate.

Q 11 : Can  a male become a nurse ?

 Yes , a male student can also become a nurse and in fact there is a great demand for  male nurses.

Q 12  : Is this program approved by LAN ( the National Accreditation Board ) and  the Nursing Board of Malaysia?

Yes , the program is approved by both these bodies and in fact Lincoln College has received the Provisional Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board.

Q 13 : How far is the hostel from the college?

The hostel is only 10 minutes walking distance from the college.

TRANSPORTATION:

Q 13 A :  Where is the nearest LRT station from Lincoln College ?

If you  take the PUTRA LRT, get down at Kelana Jaya and take a taxi to Lincoln College. However, it is  better to get down at Taman Bahagia ( just one station before Kelana Jaya ) and catch  the feeder bus ( Number 626) which stops in front of the College.

Q 15   : How do I go to KLCC from Lincoln College ?

You need to take a feeder bus ( just in front of the college )  to Taman Bahagia or the Kelana Jaya LRT station . There is a direct LRT service either from  Taman Bahagia or from the Kelana Jaya LRT station to KLCC.
