Pharmacy Lecturers Presented their Paper at TWAS Young Scientists Conference

Md. Harun-Or-Rashid, and Mst. Afsana Khatun, lecturers from the Department of Pharmacy of the Lincoln College presented their papers at the Third World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) Regional Young Scientists Conference held last November 2 - 5 , 2009 at the Armada Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

This year’s conference theme was, “Food, Health and Fuel: Plants for the Future”. The papers presented, which were collaborative works with other experts are as follows:

* A survey of medicinal plants of Dinajpur and Joypurhat districts in Bangladesh, which can be used as food supplements (Md.Harun-Or-Rashid, Abu Noman, Md. Shahadat Hossan, M. Taufiq-Ur-Rahman, Rownak Jahan, Mohammed Rahmatullah;2009);

* In vitro propagation of Achyranthes aspera: utilizing organic supplements (Mst. Afsana Khatun, Mst. Afifa Sultana, Tashnova Bente Aftab, F.M. Safiul Azam, Mohammed Rahmatullah ; 2009);

* Hormonal effect on callus induction of Euphorbia prostrata L. - a widely used medicinal plant (Tamanna Akter Jahan, Towrit Jahan, Mst. Afsana Khatun, Rownak Jahan, Mohammed Rahmatullah; 2009);

* Effect of hormones on in vitro micro-propagation of Euphorbia prostrata – a medicinal plant of Bangladesh (Towrit Jahan, Tamanna Akter Jahan, Mst. Afsana Khatun, Rownak Jahan, Mohammed Rahmatullah ; 2009).

Lincoln College Logo Contest

More than one design may be submitted.

Designs must be submitted in hard and soft copies format.

All hard copies should be submitted to Miss Erica Thomas;Soft copies should be
emailed to amiya@mit.edu.my.

Submission of entries is until 31st December,2009 only.

The winning logo gets a cash prize of RM300.
